Benin’s National Assembly Adopts Two Laws on the Rights of Women

On Wednesday, October 20, 2021, Benin’s National Assembly adopted two fundamental laws for the protection and emancipation of women in Benin. These are Law N°2021-11 on special measures for the repression of offences committed on the basis of sex and for the protection of women in the Republic of Benin and the law amending Law N°2021-12 relative to the modification of law N° 2003-04 of March 3, on sexual health and reproduction.
