Welcome to the SOAWR Resistance Hub!
Here, you can find resources on resisting the backlash against African women’s rights and the African human rights system more broadly.
We have a variety of English and French advocacy and information resources developed by SOAWR member organisations and allies, as well as relevant media pieces. SOAWR’s work continues to be grounded in seeking universal implementation of the Maputo Protocol.
This Hub continues to be updated regularly. If you would like to share any additional resources to be featured here, we’d love to hear from you! You can get in touch via email: [email protected]

This policy brief was developed by Afya na Haki and provides practitioners in reproductive justice, public health law, and civil society advocacy with an analysis of the Draft African Charter on the Protection of the Family, Sovereignty, and Values.
