In 1974, a little over ten years after our independence, eminent jurists paying close attention to the situation of our population and in particular that of women and children felt the duty to create a framework for reflection and exchanges on the question. Thus was born the Association of Senegalese Jurists in July 1974. It counts among its members professors of law, magistrates, lawyers, bailiffs, notaries, labor inspectors, legal advisers, doctoral students in law, etc. The grouping of women lawyers has enabled them to contribute effectively to the development of law in general and to the advancement of women and children in particular.

Vision: Make the Association of Senegalese Jurists an organisation of women jurists of reference in the world, in scrupulous agreement with the ideals, the objectives and the statutes of the AJS.
