CPTAFE a été créée par des bénévoles en 1984 en tant que branche du Comité interafricain sur les pratiques traditionnelles affectant la santé des femmes et des enfants, en particulier les mutilations génitales féminines (MGF). Depuis lors, CPTAFE est devenue une organisation nationale bien établie qui dirige et coordonne la lutte contre les MGF en Guinée. CPTAFE accomplit cela en menant des campagnes aux niveaux national et local pour combattre et éliminer les MGF. Les activités de CPTAFE comprennent le plaidoyer, la sensibilisation, le renforcement des capacités des organisations de base et la vulgarisation.
CPTAFE was formed by volunteers in 1984 as a branch of the Inter African Committee on Traditional Practices affecting women’s and children’s health, particularly Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). Since then, CPTAFE has evolved into an established national organization leading and coordinating the fight against FGM in Guinea. CPTAFE accomplishes this by spearheading campaigns at national and local levels for combating and eliminating FGM. CPTAFE’s activities include advocacy, awareness-raising, capacity building of grassroots organizations, and outreach.
