The CIDDEF, an Information and Documentation Centre on the Rights of the Child and the Woman, opened its doors on May 9, 2002. This space has become a necessity for human rights activists but also for professionals (researchers and students) women’s and children’s issues. Necessity imposed by the lack of space for expression and information. CIDDEF aims to be a place for meetings and exchanges between all the partners. It also aspires to be a bridge between civil society and public institutions.

Their objectives are:

  • Information and popularisation of information on the rights and citizenship of Children and Women through all communication media (publishing, audio-visual, Internet) and intended for the general public.
  • Sensitisation of institutional and associative partners on the demands and needs of children and women.
  • Training for professionals, researchers and members of associations, in the gender and development approach, project management, communication etc.
  • The development of research relating to the field of gender through conferences, colloquiums, seminars, studies and surveys.
  • Institutional strengthening through the establishment of inter-sectoral partnerships, consolidation of networks in the country and in the region.
