The NGO Gender Coordination Network (NGOGCN) was established in 1998 with the objective of coordinating activities of NGO dealing with gender related and women’s rights issues in Malawi. Its membership includes NGOs dealing with gender and women issues in Malawi. The NGO GCN is the only network dealing with gender issues in Malawi and has diversity in the membership and issues addressed. It is therefore a legitimate voice on national gender issues.
Mission statement: a network that exists to promote gender equality and equity in Malawi through co-ordination, lobbying, advocacy, information sharing and capacity building of its members.
