This year’s theme is ‘DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality’, focussing on: celebrating the women and girls who are championing the advancement of transformative technology and digital education. exploring the impact of the digital gender gap on widening economic and social inequalities. spotlighting the importance of protecting the rights of women and girls in digital spaces and addressing online and ICT-facilitated gender-based violence. The Central African Republic has officially ratified the Maputo Protocol!

Following the SOAWR Coalition’s ratification and advocacy mission on the 25th of June 2025, the Government of the Central African Republic (CAR) deposited the instrument of ratification for the Maputo Protocol on the 29th of July 2025, making CAR the 46th African Union member state to do so.
