In the 80th session of the CEDAW Committee, the Association of the Egyptian Female Lawyers (AEFL) gave an oral statement at the public informal meeting which was held for NGOs to give their oral statements. In its statement AEFL agrees with CEDAW Committee in regard to calling the Egyptian government to provide equal opportunities for women in labor market according to article 11 of the convention. Benin’s National Assembly Adopts Two Laws on the Rights of Women

On Wednesday, October 20, 2021, Benin’s National Assembly adopted two fundamental laws for the protection and emancipation of women in Benin. These are Law N°2021-11 on special measures for the repression of offences committed on the basis of sex and for the protection of women in the Republic of Benin and the law amending Law N°2021-12 relative to the modification of law N° 2003-04 of March 3, on sexual health and reproduction.
